Job Description

NANA Worley/NANA Shareholder college internships are between 24- 40 hours per week, continue for a minimum 8 weeks and will start in early June.  Longer duration internships and an earlier start date is possible for the right candidate.

 

Summary

Under supervision of the Department manager, performs a variety of entry-level tasks and special projects focused on the intern’s area of study.  Internship will be tailored to student’s interests and career aspirations.  Intern will perform work that exposes them to a business career in the engineering industry.  Department examples include: Administrative, Accounting, Health & Safety or Quality.

Responsibilities

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Support manager in research and analyzing of data.
  • Enter various data into spreadsheets and databases in an accurate and error free manner.
  • Assist with the preparation of documents, reports, forecasts schedules, account codes, budgets and changes as requested.
  • Assist with preparation of final reports including obtaining historical data and information.
  • Assist with the creation of reports and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Conduct quality checks of databases, documents, and reports, to verify accuracy of data, information, and calculations.
  • Assists with filing for department.
  • Scan and/or fax documents as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff, and company information.
  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 

Qualifications

Education/Experience

    • Enrollment in a degree program with at least one semester completion.
    • Be declared in a major/program of business or other business-related field such as Accounting, HSSE, Marketing or Quality/Risk.
       

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers, clients or employees of organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, proportions, and percentages.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Word, word processing software, and MS Excel spreadsheet software.
