The Broadband Traveling Technician will perform installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic cables and service drops, installation, maintenance and repair of customer access equipment, splicing and testing fiber optic cables, installation, maintenance and repair of central office electronics and equipment, training and mentoring of local Broadband Technicians. Operating in a safe and proper manner as set forth in company policy and without constant direct supervision. This role also includes general and higher-level upkeep of village property and equipment, ensuring reliable internet service delivery to customers.
**Priority consideration will be given to candidates located in Kotzebue, AK or Anchorage, AK. Candidates residing outside of the NANA Region will have increased travel expectations. For those based outside the state of Alaska, Anchorage, AK will serve as the official point of hire. **

Weather: Indoors/Outdoors – this position requires both work in environmentally controlled environments as well as outdoors in all manner of weather. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to severe weather conditions.
Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Description of environment: Small office spaces with standard office environment, equipment rooms with higher levels of noise and potential exposure to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and risk of electrical shock, customer homes and businesses, and outdoors with exposure to heat; cold; darkness; wildlife.
Physical requirements: Employee is required to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift, climb ladders and poles and work from heights.
Travel: Yes, this position will be a primarily traveling role. Must be willing and able to travel to job sites/communities which may include the use of small planes, boats, 4-wheelers and snowmobiles. Potential 2-week on/2-week off schedule.
