Job Description

This position performs various duties with data entry, processing, storing of accounts payable information to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial and administrative operations.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services.
  • Prepare batches of invoices for data entry.
  • Enter invoices in the system.
  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High School Graduate (or GED).
  • 2 years of post-secondary education accounting or a related field of study.
  • At least three years of general office experience with success in handling significant independent work responsibilities
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office, including, but not limited to Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to operate a computer, fax machine, copier, and calculator.
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in entering financial information.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial files.
  • Effective written and communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Math skills – add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.
  • Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity.

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Weather: Indoors - environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside.

Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually that of a standard office atmosphere.

Description of environment: Office building with standard office environment.

Physical requirements:  Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
